Overview

The 915nm Fiber Coupled Laser series covers 20–850 W for Yb-doped fiber laser and amplifier pumping. Ytterbium absorbs across a broad, flat band at 915 nm, so the pump does not need stabilising the way a 976 nm pump does — the trade-off is lower absorption per metre and therefore a longer active fiber.

  • Power & fiber — 20–850 W across nine models; 105, 200 or 220 µm core, fiber NA 0.22, SMA905 or pigtail output, 1.5–2 m lead
  • Spectrum — 905–925 nm centre depending on grade (915 nm typical), 5–6 nm FWHM, 0.3–0.4 nm/°C drift
  • Beam — NA 0.18–0.21 at 95% power
  • Drive & protection — 10–32 A at 4–63 V depending on power, 42–55% electro-optical efficiency, 1030–1200 nm return-light isolation on high-power models
  • Cooling — conduction cooled; 20–25 °C coolant temperature required

  • Use appropriate electrostatic-discharge protection during transport, storage, and operation.
  • Clean the fiber end face before use and avoid contamination or damage.
  • Operate the laser with a constant-current supply and within the rated current, voltage, and power limits.
  • Provide effective cooling; the source sheets generally recommend a cooling-water temperature of 23-25°C.
  • Avoid direct eye or skin exposure to laser radiation and follow wavelength-appropriate laser-safety procedures.
  • Do not bend the fiber sharply; follow the minimum bend-radius guidance in the applicable source specification.
